Project Manager



The role of the Project Manager in the Adoption Management organization is to assist select customers in planning, executing, and finalizing InterSystems-based projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. The Project Manager will assist customers and, as appropriate, Implementation Partners who have responsibility for the day-to-day management of project execution which includes: managing project scope, acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will help customers to define the project’s objectives and to oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.


• Support customer project team managers and influence them to take positive action and accountability.
• Consult with the project leaders in managing the project and the processes therein – including the definition and on-going monitoring of the Project Implementation Document (PID)
o Assist the customer with:
 Defining the project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
 Producing the Project Implementation Plan
 Producing and Manage the Project Plan
 Producing and Manage the Quality Plan
 Producing and Manage the Communications Plan
 Defining the resource plan
• Monitor the management and escalation of risks and issues
• Where appropriate, consult with the management of the project budget
• Support project management in ensuring that the project team members are aware of and remain compliant with all the relevant procedures and policies
• Engage with project management to proactively manage changes in project scope throughout the project. Also ensure that project sponsors and senior management are aware of the ramifications of scope changes on budget, deadlines and resource requirements.
• Ensure appropriate communication among the project team, the project’s sponsors and the extended Adoption

Management team including reporting on project progress and other project specific information to stakeholders
• Assist with the ‘handover to support’ activities after go-live including both the customer’s internal support services and InterSystems’ WRC organization
• Contribute to the ‘lessons learned’ activities for whole project life cycle
• Contribute to the Project Closure Report
• Represent the needs of the Implementation Team during the pre-sales stage

Key Characteristics

• PMI certification such as PMP, PgMP or CAPM
• Senior level management training


• Project Management experience delivering complex integrated Healthcare solutions in a customer facing role
• Experience of full project lifecycle through initiation, execution, go-live and closure
• Direct healthcare knowledge or 3+ yrs experience with health information exchange or HIS system highly preferred
• Experience managing resources, time tracking, budgets and forecasting
• Experience leading a diverse / multi-disciplined team
• Experience communicating across all levels of an organization

Education and Training

• University degree or 10+ yrs experience managing large, complex projects preferably in healthcare IT
• Technical knowledge in software and implementation processes
