Product Manager



The Product Manager participates in defining TrakCare product direction and release content as it pertains to the China market and requirements. The local China edition of TrakCare is based upon the global edition and wherever possible global functionality is used directly. Where there is a local requirement that cannot be satisfied by the global edition, the regional Product Manager works to define and plan how the edition will meet this requirement. They engage with clients and internal staff including HealthCare Architects and Implementation teams to understand how TrakCare is being used. They must also stay current with healthcare trends and governmental changes in global healthcare.  Product Managers work with Product Specialists, Application Specialists and Developers to ensure quality design and development of new functionality thus ensuring deployed software addresses client needs in a timely and effective manner. 

The Product Manager must have a broad understanding of international Healthcare Information Technology and Systems. This role is working to provide health care solutions across the continuum of care within niche markets of commercial enterprise and the health care sector. It is integral to the development of products from all viewpoints including functionality, workflow, and look and feel.

Specific background areas of a successful candidate could include:

  • Development of Administrative and Patient Billing Systems
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Standards and Clinical Content
  • Clinical Knowledge (e.g. Pharmacist, Nurse, Physician, Radiographer, Laboratory Specialist)
  • Background in Health Information Management

The Product Manager will provide information and support in regards to product management and will have a track record of product development, understanding product lifecycle, and working with engineers.


  • Ownership of the strategic direction of the local product offering in regards to direction and positioning
  • Responsible for using the Global Edition for clinical software and driving adoption of global standards.
  • Provide advice on competitive products and advances both locally and world wide
  • Provide the “voice” of the product offering and work with sales channel to secure key customers and prospects
  • Keep up to date on implementations worldwide and advise where necessary
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps and communicate release scope to the field
  • Estimate and plan new developments within the product offering
  • Demonstrate understanding of workflow processes and liaise effectively with end users and internal staff to define the impact of change requests and to ensure that the changes will satisfy stated needs
  • Working with cross departmental teams to ensure that relevant product material is produced including product sheets, and solution guidelines.
  • Bring perspective on what else might be out there [emerging trends, hot topics] and how changes will help or hinder the care provider


  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle
  • Demonstrated domain expertise with clear understanding of healthcare and departmental interdependencies and workflows
  • Background working with a vendor or consultancy in a similar role
  • Previous experience working with healthcare applications at an in depth level
  • Tertiary education in either a Medical domain or Health Informatics
  • 5 Years practical domain experience 
  • Degree in the sciences, medical or hospital management.
