  • Overview

    The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with InterSystems UK Trakcare (EMR) Edition Product team and QD departments to expand a repeatable automated testing suite to assist in rapid, accurate evidential testing.


    Working alongside the UK technical, applications, support and product teams, the QD Engineer will be expected to create, maintain and execute Test Reports, Test Cases and Test Scripts. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in the field of manual and automated testing, preferably within a healthcare environment, and show real passion for quality improvement initiatives in a complex software environment.


    The QD Engineer will be responsible for the timely execution and hands-on manual Functional and Non-Functional Testing of our unique & complex Health Centric Web based system and it’s compatibility with ad-hoc peripheral devices, Service Packs, Patches and 3d party software as required in a VMWare Test Environment.  Administration of the QD process, tracking of progress and metrics, defect tracking, QD failures, escalations and creating and maintenance of test QA processes and procedures are also key tasks of these roles.


    You will be joining an established technical and applications team, and this is an exciting opportunity to help define the testing strategy of TrakCare in the UK.


    The duties initially assigned include, but are not limited to:

    • Production and maintenance of automated test scripts for TrakCare
    • Administration of the QD process including tracking, metrics, QD failures
    • Assist in the creation of Test Reports
    • Creation and on-going maintenance of Test Cases/Test Scripts to ensure complete coverage of Requirements
    • Defect Tracking, Escalation and Management using internal systems
    • Performing Manual Hand-on Functional Testing for Iterative Patches and New Releases
    • Performing Non-Functional Testing of 3rd party devices, Browser Updates, SP, Patches against heterogeneous operating system environments as required
    • Participating in test preparation workshops and meetings as required
    • Assist in the updating and maintenance of Test Templates
    • Assist in creation and the maintenance of other test related documentation as required including, but not limited to Test Processes, Procedures and Document Control
    • A flexible and adaptable approach to learning new methodology, technologies and software products
    • Good understanding of the SDLC and software testing principles
    • Other duties may be directed by the company from time to time


    • Demonstrated interest in IT and the application of technology to add value and/or solve problems
    • 5 years in software QA with Automated Test Experience
    • Demonstrable experience with automated test tool configuration and maintenance in a browser based application environment
    • Experience of developing automated test scripts using HP UFT or Selenium is essential
    • Experience of scripting languages such as VB script, Java Script
    • Experience of administering QD process, tracking and producing metrics and test reports
    • Creating, Execution and Maintenance of Test Cases and Test Scripts
    • Strong computer skills and technical proficiency in Microsoft Operating Systems and Unix based operating systems
    • Knowledge and experience of testing processes and methodologies within a web environment
    • 2 years experience and a sound working knowledge and understanding of MS operating systems, patches, browsers
    • Good understanding of the SDLC
    • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams
    • Understanding of web development technologies
