The role is very wide-ranging and challenging, requiring a mixture of design skills, hands-on coding, presentation skills, technical architecture, sales awareness, business acumen, evangelism, mentoring and training. This role requires regular travel across the UK.
The Hosted Services organization was formed in 2015 to enable the delivery of fully managed and hosted TrakCare and other healthcare related solutions. With five established data center locations globally, and several contracts in the pipeline, Hosted Services is expected to continue to grow.

Since 2009 Trakcare has been sold into the UK market, the catalyst being our selection to deliver a Patient Management System which currently underpins the majority of NHS Scotland Hospitals. In addition to working with several NHS boards in England, TrakcareLab is being rolled out as the LIMS solution supporting all of the Welsh NHS Pathology laboratories.
The Systems Management Specialist will perform the following functions:
- Support defined technical system areas, perform custom development tasks and provide technical support for the implementation of TrakCare products
- Responsible for the overall delivery of the System Architecture Plan and management of associated resources and activities to ensure that software is delivered and deployed in line with project requirements
- Communicate with the appropriate groups to obtain support when required and as well standards for the implementation of TrakCare products
The Technical Specialist will be required to perform custom development tasks and provide support for the technical implementation tools of InterSystems healthcare applications and related products.
The Technical Specialist will be responsible for site specific software development activities and to ensure that the software satisfies project specifications and is delivered and deployed in line with project requirements.
The Technical Specialist must be available to visit client sites (e.g. hospitals/laboratories) and implementation partners for technical support and/or to provide technical training. International travel may be required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering highly complex technical tasks required to assure the successful implementation of HealthShare solutions across the UK landscape. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates experienced in InterSystems technology stack – HealthShare, Ensemble and Cache, or for highly experienced integration experts with substantial NHS and healthcare technology experience.
